    Puerto Rico announce preliminary list for U16 Women's Americas Championship

    SAN JUAN (Puerto Rico) – Days after finding out their FIBA U16 Women’s Americas Championship 2019 Group Phase opponents, the Puerto Rican Basketball Federation (FBPUR) announced today its preliminary pool of players for the continental competition.

    Puerto Rico’s preparation stage for the continental competition will begin on May 5.

    During the Draw, Puerto Rico was drawn to Group A and will start the continental competition against Brazil. The Boricuas will then face Ecuador and Canada to close-out the Group Phase.

    Group B of the FIBA U16 Women’s Americas Championship 2019 is composed of Mexico, El Salvador, USA and Chile.

    The FIBA U16 Americas Women’s Championship 2019 will be played June 16-22 in Aysen, Chile and will qualify the top-four teams to the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2020.
