AUCKLAND (New Zealand) - China have confirmed their 12-player roster including Shao Ting and Han Xu just ahead of the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament for Asia-Oceania Region.
AUCKLAND (New Zealand) - China have confirmed their 12-player roster just ahead of the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament for Asia-Oceania Region. The lineup features stars from the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2019 as well as some returnees from the Women’s World Cup squad in 2018.
China were draw into Group A and will be playing in Auckland, New Zealand.
7 of the named players recently won the silver medal at the Women’s Asia Cup in September in a run that saw them beat Australia in an exciting Group Phase match. Both Women’s Asia Cup 2019 All-Star Five members Shao Ting and Han Xu are expected to shine once again for China.
Making a return to the national team are Li Meng and Sun Mengran. Both were key contributors at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018 and will be a more than welcome presence as China searches for a Tokyo 2020 Olympics appearance.
In Auckland, China will be playing against Korea, New Zealand, and Philippines. They will be playing their first game at 17:00 (GMT +13) at The Trusts Arena against Korea.
