DAMASCUS (Syria) - The dream of making it to the 2024 Paris Games is still alive for Bahrain after they won the FIBA Olympic Pre- Qualifying Tournament 2023 in Damascus, Syria.

They will now go to the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments 2024, where if successful, they could find themselves stepping out in France next year. That could be potential history in the making, since they have never featured previously at the Olympics.

Six teams played each other in a round-robin format and Bahrain booked their spot with a day to spare,  eventually finishing unbeaten with a proud 5-0 record. They were largely fueled by the devastating three-pronged punch of Mustafa Rashed who top scored with 21.8 points per game, with Dwayne Chism and Muzamil Ameer Hamooda also making significant contributions.
