A total of 34 male and female participants took part in the seminar held from 3-5 October, made possible in cooperation with the Basketball Federation of India (BFI).

The three-day program covered several topics from both a theoretical and practical perspective, including latest updates related to refereeing and basketball rules.

BFI President Aadhav Arjuna expressed gratitude over yet another collaborative effort with the Regional Office, as he believes that it would be beneficial moving forward.

"I am extremely happy that the Basketball Federation of India has been given the privilege of conducting this referees' workshop," he said. "I am sure that the three-day clinic will definitely give a lift to the standard of officiating in the country."

BFI Technical Commission Chairman Norman Isaac appreciated how detailed the workshop's approach was, which sparked more enthusiasm among the attendees.

"The theoretical and practical sessions provided in-depth knowledge of fundamentals and mechanics of officiating, with deep insights into the finer technical aspects," he said. "It received enthusiasm among the candidates, which will help build a strong referee base."

These workshops are part of the Regional Office's goal of improving different departments of its National Member Federations, including the referees, which are an integral part of basketball games.
