WABC Level 1 coaching courses in India aims to extend coaching pool
BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office - Asia successfully organized a World Association of Basketball Coaches (WABC) Level 1 coaching courses in India.
BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office – Asia. and in coordination with Basketball Federation of India (BFI) successfully organized a World Association of Basketball Coaches (WABC) Level 1 coaching courses in India.
The six day program (18-23 Sep) aimed to extend the coaching pool in India and was conducted by the Indian National Team head coach and WABC instructor, Mr. Veselin Matic.
The coaching course attracted a good number of participants as the BFI aims to accelerate the development of the local coaches in the country.
“The WABC coaching courses, as one of the main aspects for the game, will help grow the coaching pool in India. The WABC certified coaches will develop more players with new skills, said Chander Mukhi Sharma, Secretary General of BFI.
"The Basketball Federation of India will continue to conduct the WABC certification courses in a phased manner for the development of the game in India.”
Nupur Chetia, a 2022 Diploma graduate from NSNIS in basketball: “This experience was pleasant and wonderful, said Nupur Chetia, a 2022 Diploma graduate from NSNIS in basketball and one of the participants.
“Courses like this will further help us in our future paths as coaches to make better players and hopefully bring major development in Indian Basketball, he added.
