MUNICH (FIBA Europe Cup) - A further 12 teams secured their passage to the FIBA Europe Cup Round of 32 during Game Day 5 action, raising the total number to 21 and leaving only 11 remaining tickets

MUNICH (FIBA Europe Cup) - A further 12 teams secured their passage to the FIBA Europe Cup Round of 32 during Game Day 5 action, raising the total number to 21 and leaving only 11 remaining tickets, which will find their rightful holders next week.

The twelve teams who earned this week a spot in the next phase of the competition are Belfius Mons-Hainaut (Group A), magnofit Güssing Knights (Group D), FoxTown Cantu (Group E), BK Ventspils (Group I), Rosa Radom (Group J), Energia Targu-Jiu (Group K), Khimik Yuzhne (Group L), Tartu University Rock (Group L), Royal Hali Gaziantep (Group M), WKS Slask Wroclaw (Group M), Tsmoki-Minsk (Group N) and Kataja Basket Joensuu (Group N).

They join ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne, Port of Antwerp Giants, Elan Chalon, Bakken Bears Aarhus, Fraport Skyliners, Türk Telekom Ankara, Cibona Zagreb, CEZ Nymburk and Krka Novo Mesto, the nine teams who during Week 4 had secured their presence in the Round of 32.

The groups with at least one spot to the Round of 32 still up for grabs are Group C and Group E in Conference 1 with Group H, Group I and Group K in Conference 2.

Following results during Week 5 there are seven teams who dropped to 0-5 and consequenly abolished any chance of advancing further: Sopron KC, ece Bulls Kapfenberg, Hibernia Basketball, Zorg En Zekerheid Leiden, BC Kalev/Cramo, Etha Engomi and MBK Rieker Komarno.

The teams with one win to their names still have a theoretical, albeit slim, chance to qualify to the next round, given that the two third-placed teams with the best records from each Conference will also advance.

However, it is only a very slim chance, given that some teams destined to finished third in their groups already have three wins. This is the case in Group E (Conference 1) and in Group H (Conference 2), whilst there are a number of other teams who could also potentially finish with three wins.
