JOHANNESBURG (AfroBasket Women 2015) - South Africa have released their final 12-player roster for AfroBasket Women 2015 which tips off in Yaounde, Cameroon on 24 September.

Head coach Kimathi Toboti is calling on veteran guard Nosipho Njokweni to lead the squad with confidence and hoping that the 34-year-old's experience will rub off on the team's other players.

Toboti is confident that the 'Rainbow Nation' will be competitive in Group A, where they will do battle with hosts Cameroon, Mozambique, Gabon, Uganda and Mali.

The winner of the tournament will earn automatic ticket to Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games while the teams that finish second and third will compete in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Women.

South Africa's best-ever result in the continent's biggest women's basketball competition was a sixth-pace finish in 1994 when they hosted the event.

South Africa final roster for AfroBasket Women 2015: Fortunate Bosega, Buyiswa Gwangwa, Philadelphia Khoabane, Modiegi Mokoka, Ellen Mouthwalse, Lungile Mtsweni, Zanele Ndaba, Sophy Ngobeni, Nosipho Njokweni, Veranique Samuels, Pumla Sathula and Lindiwe Shabangu.
