While Macedo dedicated the triumph to his players, Petro de Luanda head coach Lazare Adingono admitted that "D'Agosto was a deserving winner. We had a good season even though we didn’t win the title. I am proud of the players, and our fans, without them we wouldn’t have reached a competitive level that we did."
