Level 1 coaching course in Vietnam positively received among participants

BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office - Asia in coordination with the Vietnam Basketball Federation (VBF) organized a Level 1 coaching course in Vietnam.

BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office - Asia in coordination with the Vietnam Basketball Federation (VBF) organized a Level 1 coaching course in Vietnam from 21 to 26 May 2023.

The course was conducted by WABC instructor Milan Kotorac who saw many enthusiastic coaches participate.

The engaged participants left the workshop with positive vibes and were ready to be a part of the continued improvement of Vietnam basketball.

Jordan Collins, head coach of professional team Cantho Catfish: “I felt that the class was good. The topics were explained very well. The instructor communicated very well with the group.”

Michael Olson, head coach of the Women’s National Team: “The coaching course was well prepared and well executed.  We learned about teaching basketball in a variety of ways and throughout the days I noticed the coaches improving and working together greatly.  I give the experience a thumbs up as it was very informative and professional.”

Vu The Cang, assistant coach of professional team Danang Dragons: “During this course, I have learned a lot, not just from the instructor but also from the other coaches that participated in this course. Despite the limited time, I still can practice and take notes both on and off the court. This is a very helpful program for any level coaches, especially those coaches working with young players. I hope there can be more courses like this to help the development of coaches in Vietnam.”

David Grice, head coach of Vietnam Women’s 3x3 National Team: It is positive to see opportunities for courses like this begin to appear in Vietnam. Overall, this was a great experience and definitely helps coaches to improve and reflect on how they perform with their teams. I hope to keep gaining experience and move to Level 2 soon.

These courses are part of the Regional Office’s continuous efforts to improve the National Federations, including the coaches, who are an integral part of basketball games.
