MIES - There was cause for celebration at the House of Basketball on Tuesday as 19 candidates from around the world successfully passed the test to become licensed FIBA agents.
This year's second and last test at FIBA's headquarters once again saw a group of personalities that included former players and coaches, all looking for an avenue to remain active in basketball.
The very first FIBA Agents test session took place back in March 2007. The certification process has resulted in almost 650 licensed agents around the world.
With an average of five sessions a year - held across FIBA's world headquarters and in its regional offices in the Americas and in Oceania - the number of licensees is still increasing steadily. 2017 also saw FIBA Agents tests sessions take place for the first time in Singapore, where two sessions were staged.
With such active and efficient representatives operating on a global scale and working in close collaboration with its national federations, FIBA has managed to regulate the international transfers of players to noticeably improve the basketball environment.
FIBA
