    India continue dominance in South Asia basketball with gold medal sweep

    KATHMANDU (Nepal) - India completed their run of dominance in basketball competitions at the South Asian Games by winning both the men’s and women’s basketball gold medals on the final day.

    KATHMANDU (Nepal) - India completed their run of dominance in basketball competitions at the South Asian Games by winning both the men’s and women’s basketball gold medals on the final day.

    India had previously already secured the gold medal in both the men’s and women’s events of the 3x3 basketball competition as well.

    The India men’s basketball team beat Sri Lanka in the Final by a whopping 101-62 deficit to claim another gold. The women’s national team of India also handled their opponents, Nepal, easily in the championship game with a 127-46 win.

    India had no trouble clearing through the men's basketball competition, scoring an average of 121.3 points per game with an average point difference of 63.0 points. It was just as lopsided in the women's competition as India scored 139.7 points per game and won by an average margin of 96.7 points per game.
