MIES (Switzerland) - A long-standing partner of the FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre, OIKO, has taken an innovative approach to improve the management of their FIBA Approved court sticker product cycle.

The Italy-based company is a leading sports branding and signage specialist and event planner with proven design, production, and implementation skills.

OIKO's FIBA Approved NOSLIP stickers have been supplied to multiple FIBA events over the past 20 years, including the FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2006 and 2010 and the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019, meeting the high demands of basketball competitions and providing optimal levels of friction and durability.

The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2006 was played in Japan

To further ensure each phase in the approved sticker's product cycle is done properly, OIKO created KeepUp this year to trace the life cycle from production to installation.

"We have been a strong believer in FIBA certification which is based on Testing Methods that are scientifically proven," said Giancarlo Alfani, CEO of OIKO. "Our sticker has been approved by FIBA since 2004. Understanding the importance of the equipment used in the field of play, we appreciate FIBA's ongoing pursuit in ensuring the quality of FIBA approved equipment."

KeepUp will help OIKO ensure rigorous attention to detail by all parties involved and is an effective control tool available to all users, who can now follow every step of the production and installation, from the temperature of the warehouse to the conditions of the playing surface on which the sticker will be used.

"FIBA has a relentless pursuit of the safety and quality of basketball equipment used for competitions. While our testing program has already served as the quality gatekeeper for years, our ambitious next steps will be to have greater assurance in the process from production to installation, the most important phase to players - the end users. We are glad that OIKO has implemented this initiative in line with the vision of FIBA and also the Equipment & Venue Centre," said Bart Prinssen, Head of FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre.

OIKO has also been the event delivery partner of FIBA's Equipment & Venue Centre and provided event production services for its bi-annual Partners Summit that was held in Antwerp, Belgium this June. Thanks to OIKO's high quality and agile live event service, the Partners Summit 2022 was able to provide a platform for more than 120 partners to network and exchange on industry developments.

The FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre offers a global platform to find the highest level of quality, testing and innovation related to basketball equipment and software. Its partners supply approved products that fulfill the strict requirements of high-level basketball competitions. For more information, click here.
