FIBA launch Youth Training Programs with special ceremony in Beijing

BEIJING (China) - A special ceremony was held for the launch of the FIBA China Youth Training Programs with numerous distinguished guests attending the event.

The purpose of the launch ceremony was to announce China's initiatives that are helping grow and develop Chinese youth basketball, including the FIBA China Skills Challenge (U4-U16), the FIBA China Youth Training Digital Platform, FIBA China Youth Training Courses and FIBA China Mini-Level Coach Training.

Authorities from the Chinese Basketball Association, Basketball Administration Center under Sports Ministry, partners from various aspects including the FIBA BG Academy, Walmonos, Molten, Enlio and basketball training agencies, venue owners, and press media were all in attendance, along with FIBA Central Board Member Yao Ming. 

FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis delivered a video speech and emphasized the importance of youth development in China. 

"China is an important member of the basketball community and youth development plays a fundamental role in improving the sport in your country. FIBA is happy and willing to bring international resources to China, such as advanced training content from the World Association of Basketball Coaches. We also work with Chinese authorities, federations, universities, and agencies to create high-level basketball youth training platforms and provide opportunities to millions of young players and fans to be part of our beloved sport."

Mr. Zhang Hansong, Director of Comprehensive Office of Basketball Administration Center under China's General Administration of Sport, praised FIBA China for its efforts which are in line with China's national strategy of youth development in sports.

FIBA's youth training programs in China have received high levels of attention and support from all aspects of the basketball industry. A number of enterprises, training institutions and relevant industry elites will be offering their expertise to FIBA China's Youth Training Programs in the near future in their respective areas of expertise.
