    Diverse and enthusiastic group of participants attend WABC Level 1 coaching courses in Saudi Arabia

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - FIBA Regional Office - Asia held two World Association of Basketball Coaches (WABC) Level 1 coaching courses from 11-16 and 18-23 June in Dammam and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office - Asia successfully organized two World Association of Basketball Coaches (WABC) Level 1 coaching courses in Saudi Arabia. This continues a big year for basketball in Saudi Arabia, after having many seminars and workshops held in the country to promote and develop the sport.

    The two courses, that ran from 11-16 and 18-23 June in Dammam and Jeddah,  attracted  30 coaches, both male and female, from all across the kingdom.

    The courses started with classroom sessions and were followed by on-court sessions to help the participants implement the information they received in the classroom sessions

     

    Dr.Ghassan Tashkandi President of the Saudi Arabia Basketball Federation (SBF) said of the coaching course: "2022 has been an exceptional year for basketball coaches development in Saudi Arabia. We have started Ball'in School program in collaboration with FIBA Regional Office Asia to train 1300 physical education teachers, and now we just wrapped the second Level 1 coaching course in the Kingdom."

    "I am pleased to see 30 new enthusiastic and passionate coaches that enrolled in the coaching clinic."

    These courses are part of the Regional Office’s continuous efforts to improve the national federations, including the coaches, who are an integral part of basketball games.
