YAOUNDE (AfroBasket Women 2015) - Senegal shooting guard Aya Traore was rewarded for her impressive tournament and a huge individual performance in the Final of AfroBasket Women 2015 on Saturday by receiving the Most Valuable Player award, presented by Tissot.
Traore made two three-pointers on her way to a team-high 17 points and also grabbed 3 rebounds as Senegal held off Cameroon 81-66 to claim their 12th continental title.
The 32-year-old headlined the All-Star Five which also included Cameroon's Ramses Lonlack, Geraldine Robert of Gabon, Deolinda Ngulela of Mozambique and Nigeria's Adaora Elonu.
As AfroBasket Women 2015 champions, Senegal qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics, while Cameroon and Nigeria booked their places in the 2016 FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament (WOQT).
