A new official court for FIBA 3x3 after Enlio global deal

SHIJIAZHUANG/MIES (China, Switzerland) – FIBA and Enlio, a Chinese leading sports floor-making company, on Friday announced a multi-year partnership for FIBA 3x3 world events.

SHIJIAZHUANG/MIES (China, Switzerland) – FIBA, the International Basketball Federation and Enlio, a Chinese leading sports floor-making company, on Friday announced a multi-year partnership for FIBA 3x3 world events.

"We are delighted to work with Enlio as 3x3 prepares for its Olympic debut," FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis said. "Our first experience working together at the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup and FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup last year was unanimously acclaimed by federations, players and fans alike. We are confident this partnership will give us a big boost to make 3x3 the highest-paced and one of the most spectacular disciplines at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and beyond."

Enlio engineered a brand new court for 3x3, whose high molecule thermosetting elastic material - softer than ordinary polypropylene material and which realizes full body soft structure - ensures excellent support and protection for the players’ body. The court’s anti-slip and impacting force effectively protects the players’ joints and helps them express their strength and leaping ability to the maximum. The soft structure and smooth texture design offers the players protection against serious bruises. This technology also guarantees a better and more stable ball bounce. Its weather resistance property will help retain excellent elasticity all year round.

"We are excited to join FIBA3x3 on its road to the Olympics," Enlio Chairman Li Yu said. "We are very proud of the innovative courts we created and designed. We are looking forward to being associated with such a fast-growing, urban and global discipline and are ready to bring 3x3 to the next level."

Enlio courts will be used at the FIBA 3x3 World Cups (at senior, U23 and U18 level) as well as the top level of the FIBA 3x3 professional circuit (FIBA 3x3 World Tour). FIBA will recommend their use at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

    About FIBA 3x3

Exciting, urban and innovative, 3x3 is inspired by several forms of streetball played worldwide and is considered the world’s number one urban team sport. Steered by FIBA, games see two teams of three players face off on a basketball half-court.

It was played successfully for the first time in international competition at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and since then has benefited from the launch of a yearly city-based FIBA 3x3 World Tour and national-team FIBA 3x3 World & Continental Cups. On 9 June 2017, 3x3 was added to the Olympic Program, starting from the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Nike is the Founding Partner, Wilson the Global Sponsor and Tissot the Official Timekeeper of FIBA 3x3.

FIBA 3x3 events are played on Enlio floors with Wilson balls, Schelde backstops, and the Magic Sky canopy system.
