    Cauley-Stein picks up FIBA Europe Cup MVP crown for October

    MUNICH (Germany) – Willie Cauley-Stein's blistering form for Itelyum Varese has steered him to FIBA Europe Cup MVP honors for October.

    MUNICH (Germany) – Willie Cauley-Stein's blistering form for Itelyum Varese has steered him to FIBA Europe Cup MVP honors for October.

    The 30-year-old has led the Italian side with an average of 16.5 points and 14.5 rebounds a game, as well as 3.0 assists with Varese currently 1-1 in Group I.

    And in those two games, the seven-foot big man has shot a sublime 70 percent from the field along with 71.4 percent from the free throw line.

    Cauley-Stein began the Regular Season with 15 points and 9 rebounds on 6-for-9 shooting in a 95-80 victory over Keravnos BC in Nicosia.


    He followed that up on Gameday 2, by breaking the FIBA Europe Cup single-game record by pulling down 20 rebounds to go with 18 points in a 91-79 loss against BG Gottingen.

    Taveion Hollingsworth was another leading performer in October having helped Petrolina AEK off to an unbeaten start.
