MUNICH (Germany) - Anwil Wloclawek have been crowned FIBA Europe Cup champions after defeating Cholet Basket over two legs in the Finals.

It was a dramatic 80-78 triumph on the road in front of a sold out crowd at La Meilleraie that sealed the title with an overall 161-155 win on aggregate.

Phillip Greene was named as the Finals MVP after averaging 15.5 points and 3.5 assists across the two-legged Finals with French legend Antoine Rigaudeau presenting the award.

Victor Sanders top scored with 20 points as the visitors edged ahead late on to cap a thrilling Finals success. Cholet had led by as many as seven points on the night, but came up short in their bid to become the first winners to come from the Qualifiers.

Anwil had established a four-point lead from the first leg on April 19 with an 81-77 victory in Wloclawek.

They become the first Polish side to win a European competition as they take the crown from last year's winners Bahcesehir College as they finished the 2022-23 edition with a 13-5 win-loss record.
