    MVP Iyana Carrion headlines All-Star Five

    MATOSINHOS (Portugal) - After suffering a heartbreaking overtime loss in the Final of the FIBA U16 Women's European Championship, Spain's Iyana Martin Carrion was named as the tournament MVP.

    MATOSINHOS (Portugal) - After suffering a heartbreaking overtime loss in the Final of the FIBA U16 Women's European Championship, Spain's Iyana Martin Carrion was named as the tournament MVP, headlining the All-Star Five.

    Carrion, who scored 22 points in the Final as Spain were beaten by France, averaged 17.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.0 steals per game.

    Carrion's teammate Awa Thiam also made the All-Star Five after averaging a double-double with 13.1 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

    Another pair of teammates also earned their spot in the All-Star Five, as Petra Bozan and Lena Bilic of Croatia made the list.

    Bozan averaged 13.6 points, 15.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 2.4 blocks per game, finishing as the tournament's leading rebounder, while Bilic averaged 12.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game, also sinking a game-winner in the Round of 16.

    Rounding out the All-Star Five is Tea Cleante from gold medalists France, as she averaged 12.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists and a tournament-best 3.4 steals per game.
