ZAGREB (FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship 2017) – After finishing in the top five at last year’s FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship, Croatia are looking forward to maintaining those high standards when they take to the floor in Bourges.

Head coach Dean Nemec will be able to rely on a number of players who impressed during 2016 in Udine, with five returnees named on the candidate list.

Croatia 16-player squad for FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2017
Tonia Bilic Viktorija Curic Gabriela Grizelj Ana Haklicka
Nika Jelenkovic  Josipa Juric Nika Lokica Ana Mandic
Nika Muhl Bruna Obratov Marta Ostojic  Andela Ostric
Marta Savic Josipa Tuftan Mia Vuksic Franka Zadro

Nika Muhl, Ana Mandic and Josipa Juric were all part of the main six-player rotation who excelled on Italian soil and that will give Croatia a nice platform to build from this time around.

Muhl in particular was a defensive force and she led the way with a massive 32 steals and could be even more potent this time around with a tournament now under her belt.

Their preparation is scheduled to start on June 10 in Slavonski Brod and they will then head to France for a friendly tournament on June 21.

Croatia have been drawn in Group B with Czech Republic, Germany and Netherlands.
