Prestigious UMMC Cup line-up confirmed

EKATERINBURG (EuroLeague Women 2017) – Now firmly established as one of the most prestigious pre-season tournaments around, the 2017 UMMC Cup looks like it will continue the tradition after the line-up and draw was confirmed.

The hosts and reigning EuroLeague Women champions UMMC will be red-hot favourites to pick up their first silverware of the campaign and add to their glittering array of accolades when the competition swings into action on 23 September at the DIVS Arena in Ekaterinburg.

Olaf Lange and his star laden UMMC side will match up against EuroLeague Women returnees CMB Cargo Uni Gyor in the Semi-Finals and they will be expected to reach the Final two days later.

If it goes according to the script, they will face one of their domestic opponents in former arch rival and EuroCup Women competitors Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje or Nadezhda Orenburg Region – a tussle which would be an exciting repeat of last season’s EuroLeague Women title game.

Known for their money-spinning and marquee transfers, UMMC have had their quietest off season in memory after they retained the same team that finished top of the EuroLeague Women podium in Istanbul back in April.
