While both teams met in last year’s SuperCup Women showdown at the start of the season, their paths have been very different.
Aside from their shock opening night loss, Olaf Lange and his players have been imperious ever since and are looking more fearsome with every passing game.
They have racked up their two highest scores in their past two outings, blasting past Hatay 103-40 in their previous home game and beating Tango Bourges Basket 97-63 on the road last week.
"The score might have looked easy, but a game is never easy in Bourges," reflected Lange.
"We started with good defense during the first quarter and with an advantage in the score, it's even more difficult to play against us and against our players.
"It was a good result for the future, but now we need to focus on this next game," he stressed.
Playmaker Kristi Toliver has also enthused about the current state of affairs, demanding UMMC stay on their winning track.
She said: "We are happy with our position within the group.
"We have started playing strongly and we are following our effort during all of the games.
"We have now made a break within the group and it's good for us, so we need to continue like this."
As for ESBVA-LM, they are now 5-6 in the wake of last week's gut-wrenching 72-71 home reverse against Hatay.
