MUNICH (Germany) - With eight games of the EuroLeague Women Regular Season played and six more to go, the race for MVP honors is now in full flow and gathering pace.
Taking into account the previous update and the games played since then, there's been plenty of movement in the race chart, including a new number one and several new entrants.
1. Emma Meesseman - Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding (+3)
POWER FORWARD
Average Stats: 23.5 EFF; 17.3 PPG; 5.4 APG; 5.3 RPG
Recently handed November MVP honors, that is evidence of just how much Meesseman has cranked up the heat in these past weeks. That has helped maintain the perfect winning record of her team and perhaps most frightening of all, it doesn't look like she has even hit absolutely top gear yet. Perhaps she's saving that for down the season stretch.
2. Kayla McBride - Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding (-1)
SHOOTING GUARD
Average Stats: 20.1 EFF; 16.3 PPG; 5.1 RPG; 4.4 APG
With eight wins from eight games, Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding continue to impress and after making the early running during the first part of the campaign, McBride has taken more of a backseat of late. However, she has still caught the eye with her contributions and there is every chance she could turn the screw again in remaining weeks.
3. Leonie Fiebich - Casademont Zaragoza (+3)
SHOOTING GUARD / SMALL FORWARD
Average Stats: 17.5 EFF; 12.3 PPG; 7.9 RPG; 2.4 APG
A poster player for newcomers Casademont Zaragoza, the German standout continues to be at the heart of their amazing rookie season. On a five-game winning streak, Fiebich is the marquee star and if the Spanish club continues to flourish and post-season dreams come true, she has to come into the MVP mix for her quality and consistency.
4. Ezi Magbegor - ZVVZ USK Praha (-2)
CENTER
Average Stats: 21.6 EFF; 15.4 PPG; 8.9 RPG; 3.1 BPG
It maybe feels slightly harsh on Magbegor to drop a couple of places since ZVVZ USK Praha continue to win and impress immensely. However it's more to do with the players rising above her than any massive drop off in form for the Aussie center who remains such a physical and imposing force at both ends of the floor for the Group B leaders.
5. Marina Mabrey - Cukurova Basketbol Mersin (-2)
GUARD
Average Stats: 15.1 EFF; 18.3 PPG; 5.1 RPG; 2.9 APG
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Cukurova Basketbol Mersin after picking up consecutive losses and Mabrey has not been quite at the level she had reached previously. However, her scoring ability is unquestionable and it is almost inevitable that she will come back with some big performances in the last six games of the Regular Season.
6. Sika Kone - Perfumerias Avenida 🆕
POWER FORWARD
Average Stats: 16.1 EFF; 13.8 PPG; 6.9 RPG
7. Brittney Sykes - KGHM BC Polkowice (+2)
GUARD
Average Stats: 16.9 EFF; 15.7 PPG; 7.3 RPG; 4.0 APG
8. Nyara Sabally - ZVVZ USK Praha 🆕
FORWARD
Average Stats: 17.0 EFF; 15.2 PPG; 6.8 RPG;
9. Arella Guirantes - Beretta Famila Schio (-1)
GUARD
Average Stats: 14.6 EFF; 14.6 PPG; 5.3 RPG; 2.3 APG
10. Elizabeth Williams - Cukurova Basketbol Mersin 🆕
CENTER
Average Stats: 19.7 EFF; 12.1 PPG; 8.0 RPG; 3.0 APG
