MUNICH (Germany) - Marina Mabrey has been rewarded for a string of superb displays in a Cukurova Basketbol Mersin vest by being crowned EuroLeague Women MVP for the month of January.

Her highly productive contribution was the driving force behind the Turkish side securing safe passage into the Quarter-Finals of the competition as Cukurova made the last eight for the second year running.

The 27-year-old racked up an eye-catching average performance efficiency valuation of 23.0 and that was accrued courtesy of 18.5 points, 8.3 assists and 5.3 rebounds per outing.

Opening up with a 66-59 road win at KGHM BC Polkowice, Mabrey went to work with a stellar near triple-double of 25 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds.

The guard was then vital to Cukurova digging out a precious and nail-biting 64-61 home floor success against Virtus Segafredo Bologna. Mabrey starred again and moved towards near triple-double territory once more with a tremendous haul of 19 points, 9 assists and 7 boards.

With Mabrey operating in a high gear, Cukurova were also able to squeeze out a hard-fought 76-71 victory at Serco UNI Gyor. They relied on another sparkling effort of 23 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds.

Finally, Mabrey was not able to be part of an unbeaten January since Cukurova went down 77-56 to ZVVZ USK Praha in their last game of the period. However, she still managed to dish out an impressive 9 assists in the contest.

The monthly EuroLeague Women MVP is selected from the five members of the Team of the Month, with the winner decided by a combination of fan votes and the panel of experts.
