    Burke banks December MVP award

    MUNICH (Germany) - Villeneuve d'Ascq LM star Kennedy Burke has been crowned EuroLeague Women MVP for the month of December after providing the main thrust behind an unbeaten period for the French club.

    MUNICH (Germany) - Villeneuve d'Ascq LM star Kennedy Burke has been crowned EuroLeague Women MVP for the month of December after providing the main thrust behind an unbeaten period for the French club.

    Impressing with their sharp upturn in form which has boosted their hopes of landing a place in the Quarter-Finals, Villeneuve have profited from Burke doing the business at both ends of the floor.

    The 26-year-old accumulated an impressive average performance efficiency valuation of 22.3 and that came off the back of a truly all-action return of 16.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 2.7 assists per outing.

    Burke started the period by helping her team to record their first road win of the campaign as they torched Serco UNI Gyor 89-61 to also extract revenge for their agonizing overtime loss earlier in the season. The guard came out of the contest having racked up 15 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. 

    She then lit it up in a big way as Villeneuve d'Ascq LM then completed a stellar 82-58 home court triumph against Perfumerias Avenida. Burke showed out with a terrific double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds - also garnering 4 steals and 3 assists for good measure.

    Finally, Burke was instrumental in the French side sealing consecutive road wins and going 3-0 during December when she put on another show during a classy 70-54 success at Cukurova Basketbol Mersin. In another exceptional display, she led the way with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals and 3 assists. 

    The monthly EuroLeague Women MVP is selected from the five members of the Team of the Month, with the winner decided by a combination of fan votes and the panel of experts.
