ISTANBUL (Turkey) - Having been crowned a champion for the fifth time, Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding ace Emma Meesseman is now chasing a share of the record for the most modern-era EuroLeague Women titles.
The Belgian currently sits just one behind the legendary Diana Taurasi, Spanish star Alba Torrens, as well as Natalia Vieru, who all have six to their name. In fact, the trio played alongside Meesseman in the same UMMC Ekaterinburg lineup when she won her first title in 2016.
In helping to take Fenerbahce to their historic and landmark maiden success in Prague with a Final Four contribution of 11.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 4.5 steals per game, Meesseman joins another legend in Sue Bird on five title wins, along with Irina Osipova.
The first four titles for Meesseman all came while wearing a UMMC jersey, picking up winners' medals in 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2021, before her latest triumph with Fenerbahce.
It's certainly been a productive campaign for the forward, having headlined the presitgious EuroLeague Women Awards ceremony by taking Season MVP honors.
