Currently tasked with helping to deliver a historic first ever EuroLeague Women title for the Istanbul giants , there is no doubt Sabally will play a big role in potentially making that dream come true at the forthcoming Final Four.
"WE ARE ALL PART OF A BIGGER SOCIETY AND HUMANS NEED TO STICK WITH EACH OTHER."
As part of the Proudly Woman series focused on EuroLeague Women players, the German star has been speaking ahead of the season finale in Prague to explain more about both basketball and what makes her tick when she isn't treading the boards.
"It's very important to be more than an athlete," explained Sabally.
"My athlete life is obviously my identity and I do it every single day, but I also studied social justice and legal studies. I think it is just important to know what's going on in the world and to speak up.
Sabally is preparing to step out with Fenerbahce at EuroLeague Women Final Four in Prague
"It means a lot to me to be committed to certain purposes bigger than myself. We are all part of a bigger society and humans need to stick with each other."
She added: "If I can help in a certain type of way by being an ambassador, then I am doing my part. I feel like it is an easy way to do so without being able to be out there in the fields."
As part of the Proudly Woman focus on Sabally, fans can also listen to her colleagues talking about her, including Fenerbahce head coach Marina Maljkovic and fellow frontcourt ace Breanna Stewart.
