MUNICH (Germany) - Celebrating International Women's Day, a new EuroLeague Women player-focused series is being launched as part of the Proudly Woman initiative.

The successful Proudly Women campaign has already made a significant and positive impact since its inception in October 2021 which has seen a number of FIBA and club led projects take place.

Tipping-off this new series is none other than Jelena Brooks, a reigning EuroLeague Women champion who has enjoyed a sparkling career and it preparing for yet another post-season in the competition.

The forward, who also played with incredible distinction for Serbia, has spoken about how Sopron Basket has a special place in her heart.

"SOPRON IS ALWAYS A PLACE I WANTED TO COME BACK TO. I FEEL LIKE I AM AT HOME HERE."

She explained: "I feel like I am at home here. It doesn't matter if I went to other countries and played in other teams, Sopron is always a place I wanted to come back to. This is a place where I met my husband back in 2008 and I have a whole family here and we are really enjoying the life."

Brooks also shared the inspiration she takes from her young son each day and added: "He is my source of positivity every day. If I feel sad, mad or angry because we lost or I didn't play well or something happened in practice, he is always a positive source for me when I come back home.

"I don't have to think about anything else, but just go in his room and play with him with his toys," added Brooks.
