MUNICH (Germany) - Epiphanny Prince delivered a majestic performance on Wednesday, but her efforts were not rewarded as Dynamo Kursk tumbled to their first defeat of the season.
Heading into Week 12 as the only undefeated team, the Russian juggernauts fell 93-83 to visiting Sopron Basket. Prince looked like the game hero when she drained a three at the end of the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime at 74-all but couldn't prevent the eventual collapse.
The 31-year-old finished the game with 30 points, including 5-of-7 three-point shooting, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and a week-high efficiency of 34 to claim Top Performer honors.
On the other end, Sopron Basket halted their three-game losing streak to keep their Play-Off hopes alive. Yvonne Turner and Candice Dupree spearheaded a masterful team performance, earning their spots in the Team of the Week. Turner orchestrated the offense with a 21-point, 10-assist double-double, while Dupree added a team-high 24 points as well as 8 rebounds and 3 assists.
Leading all players in the efficiency category in her maiden EuroLeague Women season, Alyssa Thomas has made herself at home in the Top Performer lineups. The 26-year-old is making her seventh appearance after leading ZVVZ USK Praha to an 81-66 win over Castors Braine with an all-round 22 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.
She is joined in the frontcourt by Sandrine Gruda. The French veteran showed her class with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, as Famila Schio prevailed over CCC Polkowice 83-69 to stay in the hunt for a place in the EuroCup Women Quarter-Finals.
