    Second Round field confirmed for FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Pre-Qualifiers

    MUNICH (Germany) - The Second Round field for the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Pre-Qualifiers has been finalized upon the completion of the First Round.

    MUNICH (Germany) - The Second Round field for the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Pre-Qualifiers has been finalized upon the completion of the First Round and the conclusion of the preliminary stage of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers.

    Austria, Romania and Denmark advanced as Pre-Qualifiers First Round group winners, while Switzerland and Norway took the two best-ranked runners-up spots and FIBA EuroBasket 2025 co-hosts Cyprus also continue to the next phase.

    They are joined by the six teams that failed to qualify for the Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers with Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal and Slovakia all finishing in fourth place of their respective groups.

    Confirmation of the participating teams is as follows:

    Austria
    Bulgaria
    Croatia
    Cyprus
    Denmark
    North Macedonia
    Norway
    Poland
    Portugal
    Romania
    Slovakia
    Switzerland

    The 12 teams will be split into three groups of four teams and compete on a home-and-away basis across three windows in August 2022, November 2022 and February 2023. The winner of each group advances to the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers alongside Cyprus, who qualify automatically as co-hosts.

    The teams from the World Cup European Qualifiers have already been pre-determined with a draw to allocate the teams from the Pre-Qualifiers First Round taking place on Thursday, July 14, 2022 in Munich, Germany.

    Group D: Slovakia, North Macedonia, Pre-Qualifiers group winner, Pre-Qualifiers non-group winner
    Group E: Croatia, Poland, Pre-Qualifiers group winner, Pre-Qualifiers non-group winner
    Group F: Portugal, Bulgaria, Pre-Qualifiers group winner, Pre-Qualifiers non-group winner

    The teams that do not advance from the Second Round will be joined by teams from the Pre-Qualifiers First Round in the Third Round of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Pre-Qualifiers, which will be the last opportunity for all teams to secure berths in the Qualifiers.
