Danilo Gallinari and Nicolo Melli both return to the squad having both previously represented the Azzurri at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo last summer.

The newly-appointed head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco is able to call upon further experience with the inclusion of 34-year-old Luigi Datome, while the likes of younger stars Nico Mannion and Matteo Spagnolo are in contention to make their EuroBasket debuts.
Italy will play four warm-up games next month before commencing their Second Round campaign in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers ahead of EuroBasket.

Italy are the hosts in Group D at EuroBasket with their opening game against Estonia on September 2, before also taking on Greece, Ukraine, Croatia and Great Britain to conclude the first phase.
