HAGEN (Germany) – Germany look ready to make a strong push for the podium at the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2019.
Having made history last year at the FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship when they landed the coveted silverware for the first time, they now look like they could be back among the medals during 2019.

Head Coach Stefan Mienack has named a strong 16-player squad which is packed with those who conquered Udine in 2018. However, U18 MVP and University of Oregon standout Nyara Sabally will not participate in the first camp starting on May 27 as she has been given more time to rest.
During the camp, the team will play two friendlies against China and will no doubt look to the likes of Leonie Fiebich, Emily Bessoir and Luisa Geiselsoder to lead the way in the absence of Sabally.
Germany will make their first ever appearance at the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup when they step out against Japan and will then also face Columbia and Spain during the Group phase.
