AMMAN (Jordan) - It is not only the players from the 8 teams playing at the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup Division A who are ready for Asia’s premier women’s basketball tournament ahead.

A total of 16 referees that will be making the calls in Amman are now well prepared for tip-off time after attending a pre-competition camp at the Al Fuheis Court on September 26. The participating referees included 4 female attendants as well.

Experts provided the referees with consultation and training in refereeing, basketball, nutrition, fitness and psychology throughout the camp, allowing the referees to be fully prepared for the games.

The referees also did some scouting on their end, analyzing the different playing styles of the teams while also simulating specific game situations and their resolution. Amongst themselves, they also worked on improving communication between each other in order to work cohesively as a team when the time comes.

They will then be tasked to call the exciting games of the Women’s Asia Cup Division A, starting on September 27 up until the end of the competition on October 3.
