Tofas Bursa continued where they left off from the Regular Season with a 96-83 win over Maroussi BC and Alex Perez was the man at the heart of everything. He posted 20 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals, shooting a solid 6-of-13 from the floor for an efficiency rating of 29 in the victory.
Despite coming up short against Casademont Zaragoza, Phil Fayne stood out for FC Porto in their Second Round opener. Fayne scored 22 points and pulled down 9 rebounds along with 2 steals but it wasn't enough as the Portuguese giants came up short 86-70.
Fayne's shortcoming was in part due to the sublime performance of Angolan big man Jilson Bango, who shot an eye-watering 89 percent from the field for his 22 points. The Zaragoza center also had 8 rebounds for a rating of 26 in his side's win.
Donatas Tarolis stood out with a double-double of 13 points and 10 assists as well as swatting away 3 shots for a rating of 25 in CSM CSU Oradea's 98-77 success over JDA Bourgogne Dijon.
Ezra Manjon-Van Ewyk guided MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg to a hard-fought 86-81 win over former FIBA Europe Cup champions Anwil Wloclawek. The guard shot 64 percent from the field for his 28 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist for an efficiency rating of 24, completing the lineup.
