    MIAMI (United States) - The official draws for the girls’ and boys’ FIBA ​​U16 Americas Championships to be played in Mexico, from August 23 to 29, were held this Tuesday at the Regional Office of FIBA in the Americas.

    The teams were placed in pairs taking into account their position in the Nike Youth Ranking, then the members of each group and their location were drawn for the order of the matches.

    In the boys' tournament, which will be held at the USBI Gym in Xalapa, the results of the draw were as follows:

    In the girls’ event, to be held at the Fair Dome, in León, Guanajuato, the results were as follows:

    In the group stage, each team will play against each other to define the qualifying order for the Quarter-Finals. There, the teams will meet in this order:

    1st A - 4th B
    2nd B - 3rd A
    1st B - 4th A
    2nd A - 3rd B

    The four winners will advance to the Semi-Finals and the remaining teams will play for positions 5-8.

    The top four teams from the FIBA ​​U-16 Americas Championships, both boys and girls, will qualify for the 2022 FIBA ​​U-17 World Cup.

    It will be played under the “bubble” format and the FIBA ​​COVID protocols will continue to be followed to guarantee the safety of the players and all participants.
