MURCIA (AfroBasket/FIBA Basketball World Cup) - First Salah Mejri, now Macram Ben Romdhane.

Spain's Liga Endesa has scooped up its second Tunisia international with UCAM Murcia signing the defending African champions' explosive power forward Ben Romdhane.

AfroBasket 2011 MVP Mejri played to rave reviews with Blusens Monbus in Santiago de Compostela in 2012-13 - his first season in the Liga Endesa.

Real Madrid snapped up the giant center after the campaign.

The 2.04m Ben Romdhane has been a leading man for Tunisia since the 2010 FIBA World Championship when he averaged 12 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.

At the following year's AfroBasket in Madagascar, Ben Romdhane averaged 12.7 points and 6.1 rebounds and was especially effective in the Semi-Final triumph over Cote d'Ivoire with 15 points and 10 boards.

At the Olympics last year in London, he averaged 15 points and 8.6 rebounds.

Oscar Quintana, the Murcia coach, is elated with the signing.

"He's a very important player in their national team," Quintana said.

"He's young and has a lot of potential to get better.

"He's a mobile four (power forward), good ball-handler, finds it easy to move and to penetrate.

"He's very intelligent in the game and a great competitor."

Ben Romdhane is currently helping Tunisia with their title defense at the AfroBasket in Abidjan.

The country needs a top three finish in the Cote d'Ivoire capital to clinch a place at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
