LONDON (Olympic Test Event) - With less than a year to go until the 2012 Olympics, the men's national teams of Australia, China, Croatia, France, Serbia and hosts Great Britain are lining up to compete in this week's London Test Event.

The tournament, staged at the Olympic Basketball Arena, gets underway on Tuesday and serves as a dress rehearsal for next year's full size event, which will be followed by hundreds of millions around the world.

To mirror the actual Olympic Basketball Tournament, the six-day (16-21 August) event is played in a round robin format, meaning all teams will play the other five.

For the six countries involved, this event is crucial as it is a part of their preparations ahead of their respective continental championships.

Hosts Great Britain are the only of the six teams to have a place in next year's Olympics.

Croatia, France and Serbia will look to earn their spot at the EuroBasket which gets underway at the end of the month.

Australia and China will aim to book their places for the 2012 Games through the FIBA Oceania Championship and FIBA Asia Championship respectively, with both tournaments tipping off in September.

You can find the full schedule of the London Test Event here.
