    MVP Fabian Giessmann stars in FIBA 3x3 U18 Men’s Team of the Tournament

    DEBRECEN (Hungary) - Germany’s Fabian Giessmann came away as the MVP of the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup 2023 after leading his side to their first-ever Gold in Debrecen, Hungary on September 3. 

    DEBRECEN (Hungary) - Germany’s Fabian Giessmann came away as the MVP of the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup 2023 after leading his side to their first-ever Gold in Debrecen, Hungary on September 3. 

    Giessmann was on fire on both ends from the first game, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with an unbelievable 67 points. Germany went undefeated on their Road to Gold, last facing France in the final. Giessmann put up 10 in the deciding game, including the two clutch free-throws with a second to go to hand his side the thrilling 20 - 18 against the Frenchmen. 

    The German sensation was joined in the Team of the Tournament by France’s Evan Boisdur who put up 9 points in a losing effort and Slovenia’s Jure Rener who finished as joint top scorer for his nation with 34, saving his best game for the end as he scored 9 points in the thrilling Bronze Medal game against Estonia, also scoring the last-second winner to lead his side to the 15 - 16 victory.
