Asuncion and Rio de Janeiro to host the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana 2018 Semi-Final Groups
SAN JUAN (DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana 2018) - The International Basketball Federation of the Americas, FIBA in the Americas confirmed that Asuncion and Rio de Janeiro will host the Semi-Final Phase.
SAN JUAN (DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana 2018) - The International Basketball Federation of the Americas, FIBA in the Americas confirmed that Asuncion and Rio de Janeiro will host the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana 2018 Semi-Final Phase, where two teams will qualify to the Final with hopes of winning the Horacio Muratore Cup.
Olimpia will host the games at the SND Arena in Asunción, while Flamengo will defend the Arena Olímpica de Deodoro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and both Semi-Finals groups are configured as follows:
Semi-Final Group #1 – November 13-15 – Asuncion, PAR*
Franca (Brazil)
Quimsa (Argentina)
Libertad Sunchales (Argentina)
Olimpia (Paraguay)*
Semi-Final Group #2 – November 20-22 – Rio de Janeiro, BRA*
Bauru (Brazil)
Minas Tennis Clube (Brazil)
Instituto (Argentina)
Flamengo (Brazil)*
At the Semi-Finals phase, the participating teams will face each other in a round robin format for three days. The best team from each group will advance to the Final.
The Final will be played as a best of three series, where the recipient of the Horacio Muratore Cup will enter history books as South American Champion.
The champions of the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana 2018 will qualify to the DIRECTV Liga de las Américas 2019.
