FIBA Central Board member Carrión and Secretary General Zagklis appointed to key positions on IOC's Olympic Channel Commission
On Wednesday, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced the composition of its commissions for 2019 with two high-ranking FIBA personalities occupying key positions.
MIES (Switzerland) - On Wednesday, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced the composition of its commissions for 2019 with two high-ranking FIBA personalities occupying key positions.
FIBA Central Board Member Richard Carrión is one of six new chairs appointed to head up commissions. He presides over the Olympic Channel Commission, where he will have a familiar FIBA face, with FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis (pictured above) named as a member.
Mr Carrión became an IOC member in 1990, as a member of the Executive Committee of the Puerto Rican National Olympic Committee. He has served on FIBA's Central Board since 2010, is currently a member of its Executive Committee and serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Finance Commission.
In December, FIBA's Central Board unanimously agreed to appoint Mr Zagklis as new FIBA Secretary General.
