It was a good week for the home teams in the competition, with six of the eight games being won by teams playing in front of their fans. The only exceptions to the rule were Donar Groningen and Bakken Bears, who survived two close calls to begin their Second Round journey on a victorious note despite having to play on the road.

ESSM Le Portel extender the longest active winning streak in the FIBA Europe Cup to six consecutive games after dismantling Istanbul BBSK, another team that came into the game with a five-game winning streak, by 37 points in France.

The hosts demonstrated top-shelf defense in the second and fourth quarters, outscoring the Turkish side 19-4 and 26-5 in the two 10-minute frames, respectively.

Terell Parks was just one steal shy of matching the FIBA Europe Cup high in steals, finishing the Second Round opener against Belfius Mons-Hainaut with 6 takeaways to his name in just 22 minutes of playing time.

The Keravnos big man had an excellent all-round display, complementing the steals with 14 points on a 7-of-7 shooting night from the field, 6 rebounds and a blocked shot. His minutes were somewhat limited partly because he did foul out in the fourth quarter.

The season-best mark belongs to his teammate Kenneth Barker, who had 7 steals in a Regular Season clash against Balkan.

    8

Demir Insaat playmaker Erving Walker set a new competition season-high with a flurry of three-pointers in a 79-72 win over Egis Kormend. The point guard connected on 8-of-11 attempts from the field to put his name atop the leaderboard.

The previous season record belonged to the quartet of Osiris Eldridge, Antywane Robinson, Darrin Govens and Brian Oliver, who had knocked down 7 triples each in either of the Regular Season or the Qualification Rounds.

In the history of the FIBA Europe Cup, only nine players have knocked down 8 or more three-pointers and Spencer Butterfield, formerly of Nanterre 92, holds the all-time best with 11 long-range buckets.

    11

Vukota Pavic was a rebound magnet this week for Mornar Bar, gobbling up a game-high 14 boards against Szolnoki Olaj. The 14-rebound mark was the highest in the competition this week, while the 11 rebounds on the defensive end of the court ranks among the top performances this season.

Only seven players have notched down 11 or more defensive rebounds this season and the 24-year-old Pavic, who also had 4 points in 31 minutes, was the first one to do so in the Second Round.

    12

This season, nobody in the FIBA Europe Cup has made or attempted as many free throws as Nemanja Vranjes of Mornar Bar did in a 73-67 comeback win over Szolnoki Olaj. The 29-year-old Montenegrin guard went 12-of-16 from the charity stripe en route to a game-high 24 points.

Only four different players have made more than 12 free throws in a single game in the competition, with Marko Jagodic-Kuridza holding the all-time high with an impressive 17-of-21 mark for Cibona in a loss to Antwerp Giants in the 2015-16 season.

    20

There is a 20-day break of action in the Second Round between games, with the teams getting some well-deserved downtime for the the festive season. The next games in the FIBA Europe Cup will be played on January 9, when Alba Fehervar host Demir Insaat in Hungary and Belfius Mons-Hainaut welcome U-BT Cluj-Napoca in Belgium.
