KEDAINIAI (FIBA Europe Cup) - After qualifying for the Second Round of the FIBA Europe Cup, Nevezis Kedainiai managed to bring over one of the Lithuania's rising stars Tadas Sedekerskis on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old forward, who has a long-term deal with Baskonia, began the season on loan at San Pablos Burgos but did not see the floor often in the Spanish ACB, leading to another loan destination.

"I practiced with top class players last season and have played in the ACB this year, so I believe I can help this team a lot."Tadas SedekerskisTadas Sedekerskis

"I'm very happy. It's always nice to come back to Lithuania and now especially so, as I haven't played here for five years," said Sedekerskis after his first practice with the Kedainiai club.

"We had other offers, but I think Kedainiai is a great place to finish the season. They have a great arena, it is back home, closer to family and friends, so I think everything will be good."

The fact that Nevezis are playing in the FIBA Europe Cup was also among the deciding factors. In the Second Round, the Lithuanian side will compete in Group J also featuring Demir Insaat, Egis Kormend and Alba Fehervar.

"I think I will help the team both on offense and defense. I practiced with top class players last season and have played in the ACB this year, so I believe I can help this team a lot," he looked ahead.

However, his debut in the competition will have to be put off until after the Christmas break, with the transfer going through too late to register him in time for the first game against Alba Fehervar.

Sedekerskis has been a standout at youth level for Lithuania, averaging 15.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game in the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2017 in Egypt in his latest tournament.

He has finished on the podium twice in the FIBA U18 European Championships, most recently claiming a silver medal and earning a spot on the All-Star Five in 2016. The player also played a major role on the team in 2015, when Lithuania captured bronze.
