AMSTERDAM (EuroCup Women) - French side Saint-Amand are into the EuroCup Women Regular Season after beating Amsterdam Angels 55-53 to follow on from their huge first-leg win.

Turning Point: In was a case of deja-vu as the French side made a quick-fire start and choked off any prospect of an unlikely comeback by the hosts. They raced into a 19-10 lead and it further extended the significant 36-point advantage they carried into the contest.

Stats Don't Lie: Needing to shoot themselves back into contention, Amsterdam only managed to make 1 downtown score from 14 attempts.

Game Hero: Lithuanian forward Egle Sulciute claimed a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds for Saint-Amand.

The Bottom Line: Amsterdam Angels were always up against it after their stone-cold opening during the first leg, when they crashed early and were never able to recover. Meanwhile Saint-Amand were able to take their foot off the gas in this second game and will be satisfied to have made it, but will be acutely aware that more challenging opponents now lie in wait and they will need to step things up.
