Marc Gasol brilliance sinks Germany as Spain advance to Semi-Finals

ISTANBUL (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) - A brilliant third quarter from Marc Gasol inspired reigning champions Spain to an 84-72 victory over Germany and a spot in the Semi-Finals for a 10th consecutive EuroBasket. 

Turning point: Marc Gasol scored 16 points during Spain's game-changing 22-6 run in the backend of the third quarter to change the entire complexion of the game and sink Germany's bid for an upset. 

Stats-don't-lie: After some struggles early, where they looked out of rhythm, Spain found their groove through ball movement and finding the open shooter. They dominated the assists category 26-14. 

Game hero: Obviously, Marc Gasol. Spain looked sluggish at times in the first-half and the game appeared set to go down to the wire until Gasol provided the third term heroics. When the Gasol brothers dominate simultaneously, Spain look almost unbeatable. 

They said: "In the NBA I did that a couple of times (score 12 points in 2 minutes). Once you get in a rhythm the goal gets a lot bigger and you get really locked in. You get tunnel vision. I'm happy, I always wanted to play good for all these guys. All of us here want to do well for our teammates more than ourselves" - Marc Gasol talking after his heroics led Spain to another Semi-Final berth.
