CAN/JAM - Canada wins opening game
VALDIVIA (FIBA Americas Championship for Women) – On the beginning of the FIBA Americas Championship 2007, in the city of Valdivia, Team Canda defeated Jamaica, 68-47, with a strong game display that allowed them to be in front from the get go.

Canada dominated the first quarter, 18 – 3, while Jamaica came from behind on the second one, 21 -19. The next two quarters were for Canada, which in turn proved that, even though they’re not one of the favorite teams, they will give something to talk in the Championship.
The game’s best scorer was Simona Ann-Marie of Jamaica, who scored 25 points. For Canada, Kimberley Anne Smith, finished the game with 17.
