BCL Americas’ Season 5 Brazilian clubs are confirmed
MIAMI (United States) – The BCL Americas and FIBA Americas Board confirmed, in conjunction with the Brazilian Basketball Confederation and the National Basketball League of Brazil.
MIAMI (United States) – The BCL Americas and FIBA Americas Board confirmed, in conjunction with the Brazilian Basketball Confederation and the National Basketball League of Brazil, that SESI Franca, São Paulo, and CR Flamengo will participate in BCLA’s Season 5.
This edition of the continent’s most important club tournament will have the participation of the defending BCL Americas champions and Intercontinental Cup champions SESI Franca, the 2021 champions Flamengo, and the 2022 champions Sao Paulo. The three Brazilian teams will join Quimsa, Boca Jrs., Obras, Hebraica Macabi, Nacional, Universidad de Concepción, Real Esteli, Halcones de Xalapa, and Gladiadores de Anzoátegui in this season’s quest for the title.
Season 5’s groups will be divided as follows, after the official BCL Americas draw that was held in October.
Group A: Real Estelí, Halcones de Xalapa, Gladiadores de Anzoátegui
Group B: Quimsa, São Paulo, Nacional
Group C: Hebraica Macabi, Flamengo, Boca Jrs.
Group D: Franca, Obras, UdeC
BCL Americas will begin on December 13, with the 12 clubs competing in the Group Stage. Then, the eight best teams will advance to the Quarterfinals, scheduled from March 4 to 10, and there they will battle to reach the final stage to be played in April 2024.
SESI Franca from Brazil is the current champion of the Basketball Champions League Americas. The champion of this edition will secure his place in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in 2024.
