Anything can happen for Marquinhos in BCLA Final against Quimsa

MONTEVIDEO (Uruguay) - The culmination of the first Basketball Champions League Americas season is just around the corner. The Final players have dreamed of since they started the competition.

Flamengo has proved to be the best team in the tournament as they enter the Final undefeated.

The squad is doing everything they can to prepare for their matchup with Quimsa. Marquinhos Sousa, one of Flamengo's star players, is averaging 14.7 points and 3.5 assists. "We did everything we could to get to the final in the best way possible. After the pandemic we played the Carioca Championship and some friendlies. I see our team doing well and wanting to be champion," said Marquinhos.

Flamengo's solid formation has kept them on top through the BCLA season. The team counts on key pieces in their operation such as leader Carlos Olivinha, Franco Balbi, and Marquinhos. Their last obstacle will be Quimsa, who got into the Final after beating San Lorenzo.

"It is going to be a tough and close match. The team that makes the fewest mistakes will be the champion. Since it's a single game anything can happen and you have to play every possession well," said Marquinhos.

Flamengo has played several more games than Quimsa, but do they feel like a favorite? "We arrived with more experience, but it's 50/50. I don't think we're the favorites and we will have to show them what we came here for. You have to concentrate and execute the game plan in the best way."

The Final will be on Friday October 30, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. (GMT-3), at the Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay.
