MIES (Switzerland) - The official Basketball Champions League Fantasy game is available to all for the second straight season, thanks to the Scorestars mobile app.
The new app brings a lot of improvements and new features: All players are available to every user, and there's more tactical gameplay and more daily manager missions.
There is also a new in-app currency called basketballs, the possibility to improve your team's players, collect daily rewards, and progress in divisions throughout the season. By default, you get to spend 55 efficiency points on your five starters. Here to help you with the selection are our Fantasy Tips.
DESI RODRIGUEZ ALWAYS DELIVERS FOR NANTERRE
Through both weeks of the Play-Ins, we have espoused the idea of attacking fixtures to look for the best fantasy picks. That idea pretty much goes out the window when it comes to a Game 3 situation. As we have seen every year of the Basketball Champions League so far, anything and everything can happen in a do-or-die Play-Ins game.
Predicting winners is a fool's errand in these games, so it might make sense to start looking for more reliable assets, even if that means you need to pay a little more for it.
The reliable asset we have our eyes on this week is Desi Rodriguez of Nanterre 92. Whilst that series between Nanterre and Filou Oostende has been wonderfully unpredictable with both teams winning the road games, the one steady presence in both games has been the production of Desi Rodriguez.
Across the BCL season so far Rodriguez is averaging 15.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.6 assists.
In Game 1 of this series vs Oostende, Rodriguez put up 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists whilst shooting 58.3 percent from the field. The second game saw a similar level of stat sheet population with 16 points, 5 steals, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block whilst shooting 73 percent from the field.
Rodriguez is a tough match-up for any team, but he seems to be enjoying this series in particular.
He also came up clutch for Nanterre in the final and decisive game of Group A against Hapoel Netanel Holon, when he recorded 15 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds to help Nanterre defy the calculators with an 87-77 win to qualify for the Play-Ins.
As we mentioned earlier, Rodriguez won't come cheap. He will cost you 15.5 of your 55 efficiency points so you might need to be crafty to extract that extra value in your lineup from your remaining 40 points but in a week where anything can happen, the reliable production he brings could be exactly what you need to help you get a better chance of promotion through divisions or even better, get the bragging rights in your group of other BCL Fantasy game contestants.
