    Mozambique to host FIBA U16 Women’s African Championship 2017

    CAIRO (FIBA U16 African Championship 2017) - FIBA Africa on Friday announced that Mozambique will host the FIBA U16 Women’s African Championships 2017

    CAIRO (FIBA U16 African Championship 2017) - FIBA Africa on Friday announced that Mozambique will host the FIBA U16 Women’s African Championships 2017.

    It's the second time that the 12 - team showpiece will take place in the country after the 2013 edition, where the hosts came in Third-Place.

    The twelve participating teams will do battle not only for supremacy in the age category in Africa but also to claim the two places on offer to qualify for the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018.

    The FIBA U16 Women’s African Championship is the youth topflight team’s tournament of the International Basketball Federation’s African Region.

    The inaugural edition of this championship was held place back in 2009 in Malian capital city of Bamako, where Mali clinched their maiden continental title in this age category.
