SOFIA (Bulgaria) - Nastja Claessens was named MVP at the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket 2024, Division B after leading them to the Final in Bulgaria.
She headlines the All-Star Five of the tournament which also includes Dutch duo Jasmijn Olsem and Iris Vennema, Iceland's Agnes Maria Svansdottir and Emma Cechova from Czechia.
MVP: Nastja Claessens (Belgium)
Claessens was second in scoring and was top 10 for both rebounds and assists, as she led her team to the Final and promotion while averaging 17.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
Agnes Maria Svansdottir (Iceland)
Svansdottir ended third in scoring, as her nation were in the mix for promotion, as her tournament high came in the Qualifying with 26 points against Ireland.
Jasmijn Olsem (Netherlands)
Olsem showed out when it mattered, coming up with a game-high 29-points in the Final to seal the Division B title for the Netherlands.
Iris Vennema (Netherlands)
Vennema was also a crucial piece in the Dutch success, finishing top five in scoring and coming up with a double-double in the Semi-Finals with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Emma Cechova (Czechia)
Cechova's serious presence on the boards helped her side to promotion and bronze, as she led the tournament in rebounding including 23 rebounds in the Qualifying Round against Iceland.
